Whether you’re fond of cleansing the xenos scum or unleashing righteous fury on the forces of chaos, this codex is packed with themed detachments, cool stratagems, enhancements, and more. Here is the latest info on the Imperial Agents codex rules in Warhammer 40k from Warhammer Community.

Warhammer 40k Imperial Agents Detachment Rules, Stratagems, & Enhancements!

The Codex: Imperial Agents is packed with themed Detachments that grant special rules to your army, mirroring the distinct combat styles of the 41st Millennium’s forces. Every Inquisitor has their unique flair for dealing with aliens, mutants, or heretics, but the training from their respective Ordos gives them some common ground. The big three—Ordo Xenos, Ordo Hereticus, and Ordo Malleus—form three out of the four Detachments featured in the book, with Rogue Traders making up the fourth!

Ordo Xenos Alien Hunters Detachment

The Ordo Xenos Alien Hunters Detachment makes the most of the elite Deathwatch and its famously adaptable combat tactics, swapping Mission Tactics to unleash bonuses like Precision, Sustained Hits, and Lethal Hits just when needed. You can read more on how the new Deathwatch rules will work here.

Ordo Hereticus Purgation Force Detachment

Meanwhile, the Ordo Hereticus Purgation Force loves to scorch their enemies out of hiding, granting their ranged weapons the ability to Ignore Cover and become particularly lethal against Chaos hordes.

Ordo Malleus Daemon Hunters Detachment

As for the Ordo Malleus, they’re the go-to for daemon eradication. Units from the Daemon Hunters Detachment reroll Hit rolls of one and even Wound rolls of one against Daemons. Each Detachment comes with its own Enhancements and Stratagems. Now, let’s move on to the more detailed rules for the Rogue Traders!

Imperialis Fleet At All Costs Detachment

Here is the latest info on the Imperial Agents rules in Warhammer 40k from Warhammer Community.

Detachment Rule

This Detachment offers a versatile set of rules, letting you field Voidfarer units like the Rogue Trader Entourage and Navy Breachers while backing up every other unit in the Codex. The standout rule, At All Costs, rewards strategic play: you can either unleash maximum firepower against tough foes with Eliminate At All Costs or make troops holding a vital objective incredibly tough to budge with Acquire At All Costs.

New 40k Deathwatch Rules & Legends Units

As the elite warriors of the Ordo Xenos, Deathwatch units often join forces with larger Inquisitorial contingents to tackle Xenos influences. Games Workshop said Codex: Imperial Agents deploys the Deathwatch primarily in this context, featuring 40k rules datasheets for the Watch Master, Deathwatch Kill Team, and the formidable Corvus Blackstar transport (it looks like the rest, like Cassisus, etc., will be Legends). Additionally, a dedicated Detachment reinstates their classic, flexible Mission Tactics, ensuring they are a formidable force on the battlefield.

For those wanting to still play the Deathwatch, there’s some decent news: you can indeed field an entire army of these veteran Space Marines for the higher “whole army points cost”. You’ll need a copy of Codex: Space Marines and can utilize any Detachments by picking Deathwatch units through the Assigned Agents army rule in the new 10th edition Codex. This approach preserves the distinctive flavor of the Deathwatch, characterized by its versatile veterans and aerial transports while granting access to the broader Space Marine arsenal. The codex preview images show Primaris models; more details are still to come, but it does look like this is the only way to play them as a standalone army, with no codex on the horizon.

40k Imperial Agents Rules Stratagems & Enhancements

Voidfarers leverage their orbital deployment skills to sneak dangerous units right into the heart of enemy territory. With the Combat Landers Enhancement, characters can give Deep Strike to three Voidfarer units, dropping them straight into the fray. And if you need to move other Agents of the Imperium, like Vigilant Squads or Assassins, the Masters of the Void Stratagem has got your back.

When the shooting starts, getting the job done with lasguns and shotguns can be a challenge. That’s where Violent Acquisition comes in, delivering a crucial firepower boost. And if you’re concerned about running out of Command Points too fast, the Fleetmaster ability lets you access this powerful toolkit without spending a dime.

How To Use Assigned Agents Rules & Datasheets

Worry not. If you don’t feel like building a full army of Imperial Agents, you can still just assign them to your army and give your forces what you need. We’ve seen a little of how this works, but it’s nice to see some actual datasheets.

One of the coolest perks of the new Codex: Imperial Agents is the snazzy Assigned Agents ability. This feature allows players to sprinkle various units from this book into any army sporting the Imperium keyword. With this, Imperial commanders can now mix and match like pros, throwing in psychic Inquisitors, stealthy assassins, and top-tier infantry to create some truly unique and powerful forces. Just don’t forget that there will be two different point costs for every unit; they will all be slightly more expensive when taking Assigned Agents.

New Datasheets

Here is the latest info on the Imperial Agents rules in Warhammer 40k from Warhammer Community.

Vindicare Assassin

Inquisitorial forces aren’t really built for long, drawn-out battles; they prefer taking out enemy leaders with sharp, surgical strikes. That’s where assassins come in handy. They’re perfect for slipping into an army roster and are tailored to take down key characters. Take the Vindicare Assassin, for example, with their new ability to bypass the Lone Operative rule, making them the ultimate choice for precision kills.

Voidsmen-at-Arms

For the bargain price of just one Armiger Warglaive or Helverin, you can snag two units of Inquisitorial Agents to guard your backfield objectives. Or, outfit a squad with an Inquisitorial Chimera to keep pace with your Knights and shield them from enemy Deep Strikes. If you’re looking to save some points, a Voidsmen-at-Arms squad is a super cheap way to bulk up your forces. With six models boasting an OC characteristic of 2, they pack a surprising punch when it comes to holding objectives.

Dedicated Transports

Many Agents of the Imperium units come with their own Dedicated Transport vehicles that don’t count against your Assigned Agents limit. This gives your army a nimble reaction force capable of capturing distant objectives, blocking enemy movements, and seizing momentum from an early rush. The Corvus Blackstar reigns supreme in the speed department within Codex: Imperial Agents, combining a hefty arsenal with the capacity to transport up to 12 Deathwatch models. You can read more on how the new Deathwatch rules will work here. As an Aircraft, it can effortlessly zoom over any obstacles.

For those who prefer ground transport, the Imperial Rhino is a versatile option. It can carry nearly anything in the book—except Terminators—and is cheap enough to serve as a handy distraction once it’s dropped off its cargo.

Named Inquisitor Rules For Imperial Agents

Kyria Draxus

The Ordo Xenos has its hands full managing alien races, especially when the T’au Empire and Genestealer Cults are involved. In the Codex: Imperial Agents, they shine a spotlight on Kyria Draxus, a maverick Inquisitor who’s so devoted to tracking down Necrons that she’s even teamed up with the Aeldari. But don’t be fooled – this Xenos Hunter is all about keeping Humanity at the top of the food chain. If you’re fighting any sort of Xenos, she will help a key unit shoot them off the board!

Katarinya Greyfax

Heretics, mutants, and rogue psykers tremble under the stern gaze of the Ordo Hereticus, dedicated to purging corruption from Humanity’s core. They’re packed with some of the most fanatical and unyielding Inquisitors, like Katarinya Greyfax. This iron-willed enforcer of the Emperor’s will has a knack for spotting psykers with her Psyoculum before nailing them to the wall with her condemnor boltgun. If you’re fighting big Psychic models with high toughness, this can turn regular weapons quite strong at getting wounds through.

Torquemada Coteaz

When Inquisitor Coteaz hits the battlefield, he fends off daemons with psychic blasts blessed by the Emperor himself, all while shielding his crew from Warp shenanigans with his Malefic Wards. Daemons might be tough and freakishly strong, but Coteaz is ready with a hefty nemesis daemon hammer to smash their skulls, backed up by his powerful artificer armor. Against Daemon armies, this is super strong, as it negates all those powerful attacks!

Overall, the new 40k Imperial Agents Codex rules offer exciting possibilities for players to customize their Warhammer 40k armies. The themed Detachments, unique rules, enhancements, and stratagems provide an immersive experience for many of the popular Imperial factions.
